Eb Eberhardt - "The Nimblewill Nomad"
http://www.nimblewillnomad.com/
Eb Eberhardt is quite unique, and is probably the US's most serious long distance walker. In the Odyssey of 2002 he walked nearly 1700 miles.
In a recent email from Eb he said: "my total pack weight is now at 9 1/2 pounds. So I am very choosy about what I carry. PocketMail is one of the essentials. My journal entries are composed, then sent as e-mail to my webmaster.....I am working on my second book.....text for this book came from my journal entries written on my PocketMail, over 150,000 words......"
On May 13th this year, Nimblewill Nomad will be standing below the Arch in St. Louis. That day he will hike past Clark's grave in Bellefontaine Cemetery, to Wood River, across the Mississippi on the old US 66 Chain of Rocks Bridge, to the Lewis and Clark Memorial. On the 14th, he will depart for Fort Clatsop on the Pacific (the Good Lord willing) o'er the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, 200 years to the day--the beginning of Jefferson's historic quest in search for the Northwest Passage.
You can find journal entries from his current and previous odysseys, as well as some Poetry he has written whilst on the road, from his website. (www.nimblewillnomad.com)
