PocketMail Group Limited (ASX: PKT), leading worldwide
provider of affordable mobile e-mail services, announced
its first quarter operating results.
Operating costs for the quarter were down 30% since the
June quarter and 39% since the same quarter last year.
Service revenue for the quarter was A$2.4 million, a 43%
increase on the same quarter last year.
This contributed to a positive earnings before interest tax
depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) result of A$0.2
million, the company's first positive result since it
commenced operations.
Mr Chris Coudounaris, PocketMail's Chairman, said "this is
an extremely pleasing result, it reflects the fact that we
have established a profitable, subscriber based business
model. Further rationalisation and cost savings are
expected, these include the centralisation of all Network
Operations in San Jose, California, which should be
completed by the end of the calendar year."
"We believe our low cost model gives us a significant
competitive advantage. Our future strategy will be to
leverage this advantage to provide PocketMail's service
on a worldwide basis".
